Updated all articles in our Help Desk to fix links/images.

As of 5/16/19, I have gone through our online Help Desk and updated all the articles and image file locations to fix links that went to the old pennparts.com site or to store.scottsbt.com. If you find anything still broken, please do let me know via customerservice@mysticparts.com Thanks! ~Mo Link to our Help Desk where you can also find the repair articles and photo guides. https://scottsbt.zendesk.com/hc/en-us In the near future I will be revising the site name for the help desk as well to get rid of the scottsbt, but this remains as is for now.

Links in section headers and specs pages repaired.

I'm repairing broken links/image files throughout the catalog. This post will be ongoing rather than making separate posts for this update. This is fixing links from scottsbt.com over to mysticparts.com. Also revising older specs page formats to newer, adding any missing image files that I can find, etc.

Just going to list the ones that I've finished in blocks, with one link to the start of where I was working that day.

I'm making this my primary focus until it's completed..I keep getting sidetracked by other projects and can't leave these links/images broken anymore. Apologies for the delay in fixing catalog function!

3/18/19 At least I didn't get too far in on editing the specs page to a newer layout before I realized that the newer template we'd put together a couple of years ago wasn't dynamic. That means on smaller screens it was just cutting off the specs info. So now I'm revising that to a dynamic setup that should resize. This'll put me behind, but glad that I caught it on 8 pages in. Oops.

Contact Form and Advanced Search Revised

Contact Form

If you have sent us a message via the contact form at PennParts.com/Store.Scottsbt.com between July 14th and 19th, and have not received a reply, please do contact us again. The form stopped working due to a change on the mail server side, causing messages to be delivered 3 days later, or not at all. The new form has been tested and appears to be working fine.

Advanced Search

I have added an additional Google site search box to the Advanced Search page, to allow for searching of the webpages in the site.

Schematic Updates

Revised the Senator 111 with some adjustments (clamp/stud corrections, added correct # of post screws to drawing, etc)

I have been updating ALL of our schematics so that the drawings are a printable size without having to reduce or enlarge the image size. I have about 25% of the files left to fix. After that, there shouldn't be any printing formatting issues.

Checkout Problem Solved!

I corrected the problem in the checkout where the shipping and payment method sections were not displaying.

The problem was where users were keying in orders as new customers, but they had either ordered from us before or they had already registered their email in the site with intent to order later.

Normally this would not be a problem, but the "Already Registered" error message with log in link was ALSO not displaying. This has now been corrected!

All customers should now be able to checkout normally.

Checkout Revised

I've revised the checkout so that shipping options now display as a list, instead of a drop down menu. This way, all options are easily viewed. Reminder that First Class postal is only available for orders under $50. Orders over $50 will default to our preferred shipper, UPS ground, but can easily be changed to other UPS or Postal Priority Mail or Express mail options.

Our new Able 7.0.6 software went into effect on 3/21/11

We hope that you like the new setup.

The general layout is similar to the old catalog. The checkout is a little more streamlined and there are more bells and whistles on the administration side to help us to help you.

NEW FEATURES That Scott's Bait & Tackle has added:

    • A new Help Center to make it easier to find assistance online.
    • We have added a Terms of Service page for our online shoppers.
    • Live Support will be available on a more regular basis.
    • USPS First Class Shipping w/Delivery Confirmation is available on a trial basis for US Customers.
    • Paypal is now our credit card processor as well as for Paypal payments.

    Ablecommerce 7 Catalog Features:

    • Secure PA-DSS v1.2 software.
AbleCommerce software was officially PCI certified under the new, and stricter, PA-DSS v1.2 standards on June 1st 2009.

    • My Account System for customers.
Customers will appreciate many features of their online account system where they can view all new and past orders, pay balances, check on shipment status, and even add "notes" if there are questions or concerns about an order.
It is now much easier to edit your username and email address changes right from the account page.

    • Re-order it!
When used, everything you've ordered before is added to the shopping cart and you'll be able to make changes, or add more items, before checking out again. NOTE: this will only apply to orders placed from now on in this new version. Any older Able 5 system orders are not able to be included.

New Able 7 Catalog Known Issues and Troubleshooting

    Shipping rates not displaying

Customers who are still experiancing the shipping method error, please be patient while we try to figure this one out.

Item Weights: There is an issue where ultra-light items, such as washers and springs, are so light in weight that USPS/UPS are not registering them and will not return shipping rates. We are currently working on a solution to this problem. UPDATE: We found a fix for this, so basic shipping rates should display for lightweight items now. UPS may not display but USPS will.

USPS Timout: If the USPS system fails to respond promptly it will cause ours to time out. The time out causes UPS rates to not load either. If you don't see USPS or any rates at all, try refreshing the browser or give it a few minutes and try to checkout again.

Territories: US territories are currently only displaying USPS rates (PR, GU, VI, MP, AS, FM, MH). Make sure that you format your address as "PR, United States" etc. We are working on a solution that will also all UPS ptions to display, but at least we reversed the problem so that the cheaper USPS rates are displaying and are displaying for all the provinces listed.

Countries: There are some countries that we do NOT ship to. See the list in the Shipping FAQ

Old Order(s) Not displaying in My Account screen

There were some problems during the record transfers from the old Able 5 system to the new Able 7 system. The first two attempts lost entire order records in chunks. The last attempt appears to have brought over all the order records, but not all of the records are still connected to the user's profile, so they are in the system, but not displaying in the user account. There is nothing that we can do to correct this, but we still have access to the orders from the admin side if needed.
